Semester 1 consists of 20 hours of English instruction, or 10 two-hour sessions.
The focus of this class will be on real-life language use and the acquisition of four skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking. During class time, you should expect to engage in group and pair work, and to actively participate in class.
After successful completion of semester 1 of this course, you will be able to:
- Ask and answer questions about one’s personal and professional interests 
- Craft a compelling resume and cover letter 
- Anticipate and respond to commonly-asked interview questions 
- Develop a product or service that solves a problem 
- Discuss trends and consequences related to consumer culture 
Class will be conducted in person. Resources will be available in a dedicated folder on Google Drive and SAVOIR.

- Will consist of listening, reading and writing and can cover any/all material covered in class
