The aim of this course is to learn about writing literature reviews and scientific papers and reports. All the steps from choosing a research topic and searching scientific literature to writing a scientific document and reviewing scientific manuscripts will be covered.

The required prerequisite is an acceptable level of technical English (writing and reading).

Ability to create written scientific documents according to the standards of the scientific community.

This course is structured in the following manner:

-      PART I – Preparing and Writing a Literature Review (Defining and Conducting a Literature Search ; Locating Documents and Assessing Sources ; Reading, Filtering, and Organizing Articles ; Structuring the Review ; Writing the Review ; Online Tools)

-      PART II – Preparing and Writing a Scientific Article (Introduction ; Scientific writing technique ; Groundwork for successful scientific publication)

The teaching consists of courses, homework, case studies.

The students will write a brief literature review and they will review several documents written by other students. Both activities will be assessed.
