This course enhances students' English proficiency in professional and scientific contexts. 

It develops oral and written communication skills, focusing on three major parts:

  1. Professional Project: Deliver professional pitches, oral presentations, CVs, and workplace communication.

  2. Scientific & Professional Topics: Engage with technical content in Manufacturing, and professional issues such as Innovations/Startups, and Workplaces.

  3. Grammar & Language Accuracy: prepositions, active/passive voice, linking words, infinitives/gerunds, and action verbs and verbs like get, do, etc.

Through interactive activities, role-plays, presentations, and real-life scenarios, students will practice clear, fluent, and culturally appropriate speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in professional and scientific contexts.

Semester 1 consists of 20 hours of English instruction, or 10 two-hour sessions. 



By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Deliver a professional pitch using correct vocabulary and grammar.

  2. Engage confidently in discussions on scientific and technological topics, including:

    • Manufacturing, Innovations, Inventions, Workplace issues

  3. Expand professional and scientific vocabulary relevant to different sectors.

  4. Write professional documents, including CVs, essays, and reports.

  5. Apply grammar accurately:

    • Prepositions, Active & passive voice, Linking words, Infinitives & gerunds, Common professional verbs (get, do, make, take) and action verbs.......

After completion, students will be able to:

  • Deliver professional pitches and oral presentations confidently

  • Engage in discussions on  Manufacturing, Innovations, Inventions, Startups, and Workplaces

  • Communicate effectively in written formats (CVs, essays)

  • Apply grammar accurately (prepositions, active/passive voice, linking words, infinitives/gerunds, professional verbs)

  • Expand sector-specific professional and scientific vocabulary

  • Interpret and present trends, graphs, and workplace data clearly
