Week 3: Objective is to review, practice and acquire new engineering vocabulary.
Week 4/5: Objective is to put into practice the engineering vocabulary learnt in the form of a mini presentation on an innovation. N.B. Evaluation 1: The mini presentations will be evaluated
Week 6: Objective is to learn expressions, idioms and vocabulary relating to making a business telephone call, establishing a connection and soft selling your innovations. N.B. Evaluation 2: Fill in the Blanks Telephone Conversation
Week 7: Objective is to have a group meeting according to the Six Thinking Hats method.
Week 8: Objective is to write a professional CV in the format of English-speaking countries.
Week 9: Objective is to review CVs and interview questions. N.B. Evaluation 3: Identifying and correcting errors in a work placement letter.
Week 10: Objective is to perform a job interview role play.
Lesson 11: Objective is to review good and bad communication methods and to perform a role play.
Lesson 12/Lesson 13: Objective is to write a proposal Powerpoint presentation based on the design innovation in week 4.
Lesson 14/Lesson 15: Objective is to carry out the proposal presentation. N.B. Evaluation 4: Group Proposal Presentations.
Focus will be on mainly oral activities but time will also be devoted to written, reading and listening activities.
Evaluation 1: Group presentations, evaluated as a group: 15%.
Evaluation 2: Fill in the blanks of a telephone conversation: 25%
Evaluation 3: Correcting errors in a work placement letter: 25%
Evaluation 4: Group presentations evaluated individually: 35%
